Happy New Year, everyone!

What a year it has been! Firstly, we want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported us in 2017; we’ve achieved some really great things.

As a new year approaches, we wanted to let you know exactly what your donations have helped to achieve in 2017.

2017 Fast facts

  • RST have funded an average of over 30 physio sessions per month in 2017.
  • Sent a record number of Active Hands to all over the UK, USA, South America and Asia
  • Spoken to more people than ever, affected by SCi, to share our experiences.
  • Continued to support research both financially and via Marrianne’s participation

Whilst we continue to grow and help more people, we also remain a 100 per cent voluntary organisation. For us this is a passion.

Our year in review

Every month is an exciting new challenge at RST, here’s a very brief run-down of 2017 highlights.

January – Six new people enrolled into our physio scholarship program at Prime Physio

February – Flew to Miami for Marrianne to continue working with the Miami Project: the worlds most comprehensive research centre for spinal cord injury.

March – Quiz Night sponsored by Fortnum and Mason and held in their Piccadilly store. Marrianne featured in a SpinalPedia article.

April – We were so fortunate in having 10 runners complete the London Marathon.

May – Annual Border Cup Golf Event, North vs South. (South were champs!) Took on Spinal Research at the London 10,000.

June – Andy featured on the Neuro Convention video at the Excel centre.

July – Supporting our awesome runners at Ironman UK and invited to Guards Polo to support our friends NSIF.

August – Our annual golf event at Brocket Hall, where a brand-new Range Rover Sport was one of the sponsored prizes! We also had a team of riders complete Ride London 100 on our behalf.

September – World Sci Awareness Day. We released a series of short videos.

October – Willie Thorne announced the new home of our summer golf invitational. (Woburn Golf Club)

November – Invited Newsprinters to visit us at Prime Physio. (They also made a very generous donation.) Our annual RST ball raised over £25k!!!

December – Evergood Associates gave all proceeds from their Christmas raffle to RST and started a very generous monthly commitment to us.  Zach Washington-Young becomes an official RST ambassador.

As you can see, it really has been quite a year. We just want to say thank you. Thank you to all our supporters. Thank you to everyone who put themselves through a physical or emotional challenge for us. Thank you to all our wonderful scholarship program members who continue to push harder every year. We salute you all.

Roll on 2018!
