The Rooprai Spinal Trust, showing paralysis who’s the boss!

What We Do

The Rooprai Spinal Trust was set up to support those affected by spinal cord injury (SCI).

When it’s new and scary and you’re struggling to wrap your head round it, it can be reassuring to talk to those who have had the experience; who have tried and tested various therapies; and who have made progress.

“I had a great experience with Salient from start to finish.”

TO HELP PEOPLE AFFECTED BY SPINAL CORD INJURY

Helping people affected by spinal cord injury (SCI) is what we are all about. Having witnessed first-hand the devastation that SCI brings, we want to share our experiences to help others.

We are working hard to achieve these goals:

Offer Support

To continue to offer support to Marrianne Rooprai and share her story and progress to help and inspire others.

Qualified Physiotherapy

To help make activity-based qualified physiotherapy available to all those in the UK with SCI who wish to use it in their search for progress and good health.

Guide & Assist

To guide and assist others via the knowledge and connections we have made since our launch.

Support Research

To support the research world in the fight to reverse paralysis and their efforts to improve the quality of life for those with SCI.

Also,

  • To generally raise awareness of SCI, everything that comes with it, and emphasise why it is so important to rid the world of the paralysis that SCI brings.
  • To remain a 100 per cent voluntary organisation.

DONATE

Every penny we receive is so important to us as we continue to support those with spinal cord injuries. We are always amazed at the generosity of strangers and the lengths people will go to in order to raise money for RST.

But not everyone wants, or is able, to run a 5k or jump out of an airplane.

You can still be involved, though.

  • You can make a one-off cash donation here (**LINK**). Or if you’d prefer to stick to more traditional means, you can send a cheque to us at **INSERT ADDRESS**
  • If you want to make a regular donation, (**WHAT ARE THE MECHANICS FOR THIS**)
  • Or you may consider leaving some money to RST in your will. Your support could continue to help those in need after your death. We appreciate this would be a major decision and would suggest discussing it with your family.

100 PER CENT VOLUNTEER-RUN ORGANISATION

We are proud to be a 100 per cent volunteer-run charity since we were founded in 2005…and we hope to keep it that way.

We are supported by an amazing and ever-expanding group of people and organisations. With no staffing costs or office rentals, we can keep our costs low and show our supporters exactly where their money is being spent.

EXPENSES SMALL, THINKING BIG!

Our small team, who give up their time to run the trust, are in it for love, not money. Our events, partnerships and projects are as good as any high-profile charity.

“You guys sure know how to put an event on, it was an honour to come along
and support you.”
